that, down we go displuz for most of the u.s., households use natural gas. they don't use heating oil. and the ones that do are mostly in the northeast. so come march, will their pricees, their home bills be down? >> by the end of march, it will be much lower. 10% lower is what i'm estimating. >> susie: let me talk to you about gasoline because we've also seen gasoline prices have been going up every single day for the last 21 days and averaging $3.55 a gallon. where can we expect gasoline prices to go over the next couple of weeks? >> i think it's going to follow a similar trend of heating oil. i think we have another two to three weeks of somewhat higher prices. after, that i also think it's going to go down. the reason why, refineries are going to switch over to unleaded gas and there will be more than enough supply in the marketplace, and because of that i think we see a drop. i think we're going to see a 20 cent drop by the end of march. >> susie: also, tell us about supplies, we saw during hurricane sandy here in the middl northeast, most people were not prepared to be short on

a delicacy in france and italy, where it is openly labeled and consumed. the u.s. secret service is investigating the apparent hacking of private emails from former presidents george h.w. bush and his son, george w. bush, and other family members. the "smoking gun" web site reported today that the hacker, known by the alias "guccifer," gained access to emails, as well as photos, phone numbers and addresses. another bush son, former florida governor jeb bush, called the hacking "outrageous". wall street finished the week on a positive note. the dow jones industrial average gained nearly 49 points to close just short of 13,993. the nasdaq rose more than 28 points to close near 3,194, a 12-year high. those are some of the day's major stories. now, back to judy. >> woodruff: we return to the civil war in syria, where activists say rebels clashed with government troops in damascus and shut down a highway out of the capital. meanwhile, in washington, there are new revelations of a split within the obama administration about what should be done about the conflict. ray suarez reports. >>

deaths in the u.s. are being blamed on that storm that pounded the northeast with snow. marley, what's the latest up there? >> well, bruce, things here in hartford seem calm. and if you take a look behind me, you saw a car go by. the travel van that was instituted by the governor has been lifted. we are beginning to see traffic, but many roads here in connecticut are still impassable. that's also the case across the northeast. in fact, last night when two feet of snow was dumped here in connecticut, there were many people who were stuck on the roads in their cars overnight. even emergency vehicles, and snow removal vehicles getting stuck. so today, people are beginning to dig out if they can, many people's cars are completely covered with snow. >>> marley, there's a silver lining in all of this. they already had four deaths. what's the plan? >> well, many roads here in connecticut and hartford, more accurately, have been cleared for the road behind me, but many are still impassable and there is one death, actually, reported here in connecticut. the governor announced earlier today

in the snow today will help them in their search. meanwhile, police and u.s. marshals removed approximately ten bags of evidence from dorner's mother's home yesterday. police say both his mother and sister cooperated with the search. dorner is wanted for allegedly going on a deadly revenge-fueled rampage, targeting fellow officers and law enforcement officials he blames for ending his police career. >>> a new details this morning on the murder of a controversial south bay millionaire. documents just released reveal how ravi kumra was killed. he was died on his kitchen floor of asphyxiation. suspect used packaging tape to blindfold and gag him and tied his hands and feet behind his back. three men and a woman have been charged in connection with in case. police say kumra frequently hired prostitutes, including the woman who is in custody. they believe she turned over information about his mansion to other suspects who are gang members. the gangs are known to carry out home invasions, targeting asian and indian families. according to the affidavit, dna evidence led them to those suspects. >>>
